End of 2005: Construction begins on the 16,000-square-metre site for Beijing Clubhouse.
June 30, 2006: A topping-out ceremony for the main structure of Beijing Clubhouse is held.
January, 2007: Interior fit-out begins with the aim of creating a sophisticated and contemporary Clubhouse featuring subtle Chinese elements.
April 10, 2008: After an interior fit-out of almost two years, the Clubhouse opens its doors to Members, with a grand opening ceremony.
August 8, 2008: Members make new friends and officially meet Clubhouse staff at the first Members’ event, a social mixer at The Derby, which marks the third intake of Members.
September 20, 2008: The Clubhouse holds its first charity wine dinner, which feature an auction of prestigious Château Margaux wines. The net total of RMB1.175 million is used to help young victims of the Sichuan earthquake.
March 2009: Silk Road, Dragonair’s in-flight magazine, names the Clubhouse as one of the top 10 architectural landmarks of Beijing along with the Bird’s Nest Stadium and the Water Cube.
April 10, 2009: The Clubhouse marks its first anniversary with a superb banquet in the Grand Ballroom.
August 2009: The Ministry of Civil Affairs presents a “Special Achievement Award” to the Clubhouse for its Love 2008 project, which helps deprived children with special needs.
August 26, 2009: The first Members’ Salon is held with the goal of creating a “home away from home” for Members where they can mingle and interact.
December 2009: Mainland Members take part in the first four-day racing tour to Hong Kong to attend the Hong Kong International Races and visit the Hong Kong Clubhouses, as well as both Racecourses.
April 7, 2010: Members attend the APQEII Cup at Happy Valley Racecourse in Hong Kong.
April 10, 2010: As part of its second anniversary celebrations, the Clubhouse hosts its first simulcast racing party with a live broadcast of the inaugural Beijing Anniversary Cup race at Sha Tin Racecourse.
December 2010: In recognition of its prestigious reputation, sophisticated facilities and excellent services, the Clubhouse is named “Top Club in China 2010” by International Club Magazine.
May 2011: The Clubhouse receives two top awards at the 2011 China Hospitality Industry Summit, namely “Clubhouse Brand” and “Best Competition Dining”.
October 28, 2011: The Clubhouse holds its fourth charity wine dinner featuring seven of the greatest classified estates in Bordeaux. Proceeds from the mainland’s first-ever wine futures auction, which bring in RMB6.08 million in total, are channelled to a dedicated fund called “Group the Power of Love”, set up with the help and support of the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
December 2011: The China Corporate Citizenship Committee of the China Association of Social Workers presents the Clubhouse with the “China’s Best Corporate Citizenship 2011” award.
February 18, 2012: The Clubhouse organises its first horse ownership seminar in response to Mainland Members’ interest in the procedure and requirements for becoming an Owner.
July 19 – 22, 2012: A group of Members visits a school in Jilin province supported by the Group the Power of Love fund, a charitable fund established with the Clubhouse as one of the contributors. They also meet disabled orphans who receive assistance from a charity supported by the fund.
January 2013: Modern Weekly names Beijing Oi Suen as one of the best restaurants in the capital providing contemporary cuisine in its 2012 Best Restaurant Selection awards.
April 10, 2013: The Clubhouse marks its fifth anniversary, with a series of celebratory events for Members.
