National Archaeological Museum of Athens: The Antikythera Shipwreck
Twenty centuries ago, a Greek ship sank off the island of Antikythera. Discovered in 1900, it was carrying luxury goods – bronze and marble statues, pottery, fine glassware and jewellery – as well as an analogue computer that could predict astronomical positions and eclipses centuries in advance: The Antikythera Mechanism. This is a rare opportunity to view this ancient scientific wonder.

BBC National Orchestra of Wales with Principal Guest Conductor Zhang Xian
The acclaimed conductor will direct the orchestra in the overture to Gioachino Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp in C major, K299 and Antonin Dvorák’s Symphony No 8 in G Major.
