The new edition of Beijing Clubhouse's travel itineraries invites you to explore the city's golden season

Multi-faceted Beijing entices throughout the year with a host of fascinating places to explore, many of which we detailed in Beijing Clubhouse’s Rhythm of the Capital booklet first launched in June. The guide brought together handpicked cultural activities based on two themes; “From the Ancient to the Modern” and “Spellbinding Summers,” with the aim of helping Members plan their tailor-made travel itineraries.

As Beijing’s golden autumn approaches, we are delighted to present the second edition of Rhythm of the Capital, featuring “Museum Montage” and “Autumn Mosaic”, which will be at the Clubhouse ready for Members to peruse in mid-October.

Beijing is home to a plethora of fascinating museums. Among them is the Palace Museum, which in 2020 will mark its 95th anniversary, while the Forbidden City celebrates its 600th year in existence.

From September 2019 until the end of 2020, the Palace Museum will launch a series of exhibitions highlighting the uniqueness and magnificence of Chinese culture. These exhibitions will showcase relics, paintings, books and tools, while reflecting on the history of palace culture, scholars, festival customs, archaeological discoveries and much more.

The world’s largest museum, the National Museum of China, is just across Chang'an Avenue from the Palace Museum, and is home to more than one million exhibition pieces, including stunning national treasures such as the Houmuwu Ding and Four-goat Square Zun.

All these enchanting adventures and more eagerly await your patronage this autumn.

The famous 20th-century author Lao She once said that he would spend springtime in Hangzhou, summers in Jinan and that Peking was the place to be during autumn, the season of harvest.

With the city’s temperate and breezy weather and the absence of rain and sandstorms, it is extremely easy to agree with Lao She. This is the time of year when the colours of the city provide a heavenly feast for the eyes, with flame-like red leaves mingling with the golden hues of the ginkgo trees.

Live Lao She’s words by exploring the Temple of Earth, Diaoyutai Ginkgo Avenue, Gubei Water Town, Simatai Great Wall, and much more.
